Huatai Small Batch Refining process involves four critical stages to ensure the highest purity and shelf life for edible oil.

Degumming, removal of phosphatides gums and other hydratable impurities.

Process, hot water of food grade acid is mixed with the crude oil. the gums become hydrated and are separated via centrifugation or settling.

Neutralization, to reduce free fatty acids which cause rancidity and off-flavors.

A calculated amount of caustic soda is added to the oil. It reacts with FFAs to form soapstock. The soapstock is then separated using a centrifugal separator.

Bleaching. Removal of color pigments, residual soaps, and metal ions. The neutralized oil is mixed with a specific bleaching earth (clay) under vacuum and heat. This adsorbs the impurities, and the spent earth is filtered out using a filter press.
